Mandriva 2008.1 : Change Interface Network

Open a terminal & open the file /etc/udev/rules.d/61-net_config.rules

[root@pop box]# mcedit /etc/udev/rules.d/61-net_config.rules

Look for eth7 & change it to eth0.

Then reboot the system for the changes to take effect.

PCLinuxOS 2007 : Gyachi error Webcam

Barusan update repo, sebelome pake gyachoo, sekarang di PCLinuxOS 2007 udah pake gyachi-1.1.0. alias udah bisa hoin room dan webcam+voice. Ok.

Install seperti biasa, bisa pake apt-get install ato pake synaptic. Kalo udah terinstall akan keliahatan seperti ini:

Oiya, sebelome webcam nya aku pake paketnya gspca, install juga dari repo PCLinuxOS 2007 yang ada di kambing, kaya ini kalo udah terinstall :

Webcam nya sekarang udah tak colokin ke port USB, dan di kenali dengan baik seperti ini :

MySql Tuning

Untuk memperoleh hasil maksimal dari query terhadap MySQL sebaiknya memperhatikan setting variable pada file /etc/my.cnf

KDE : Dolphin as default File Manager

Kenal dolphin kan ? itu lo File Manager bawaan KDE. Emang si sebenere di KDE sebelum versi 4.0, default FIle Managernya menggunakan KONQUEROR. Nah, sekarang ini ada tip dan trik buat nge-default in si Dolphin agar menjadi File Manager default di KDE versi 3.5.x, ini dilakukan di distro yang default instalasi nya menggunakan KDE sebagai Desktop Managernya, seperti distro PCLINUXOS, MANDRIVA, SLACKWARE, dll.

Langsung saja (ini di MANDRIVA, distro lainnya menyesuaikan saja)

- syarat utama, udah ada KDE, trus install dolphin

urpmi dolphin

- masuk ke menu

Star > Tools > System Tools > KDE Control Center

atau

Star > Run Command … isi dengan ¨kcontrol¨

- konfigurasi default file managernya

pilih ¨KDE Componets¨ (di Panel sebelah kiri), trus ¨File Assosiations¨, trus “inode”, trus ¨directory¨ (dibagian tengah)

kemudian di bagian kanan liat ¨Application Preference Order¨, kemudian pilih ¨Add¨, trus klik menu “Tools > System Tools > Dolphin” > klik OK kalo sudah.

Mandriva Spring : Freeradius Simple

Langsung aja (Udah nyambung ke Repo)

$ urpmi freeradius

(tekan Y atau Enter, kemudian tunggu proses instalasi default nya)

Salin file /etc/pki/tls/certs/radiusd.pem dan /etc/pki/tls/private/radiusd.pem menjadi /etc/pki/tls/certs/freeradius.pem dan /etc/pki/tls/private/freeradius.pem. (O iya jangan lupa liat permission file nya) Kemudian edit file /etc/raddb/users, tambahkan (contoh) baris ini di bagian paling akhir.

Trus test freeradius dengan mode DEBUG dengan perintah

Buka terminal konsole baru, lakukan test freeradius dengan perintah

Nikto

Description
Nikto is an Open Source (GPL) web server scanner which performs comprehensive tests against web servers for multiple items, including over 3500 potentially dangerous files/CGIs, versions on over 900 servers, and version specific problems on over 250 servers. Scan items and plugins are frequently updated and can be automatically updated (if desired).

Nikto is not designed as an overly stealthy tool. It will test a web server in the shortest timespan possible, and it’s fairly obvious in log files. However, there is support for LibWhisker’s anti-IDS methods in case you want to give it a try (or test your IDS system).

Not every check is a security problem, though most are. There are some items that are “info only” type checks that look for items that may not have a security flaw, but the webmaster or security engineer may not know are present on the server. These items are usually marked appropriately in the information printed. There are also some checks for unknown items which have been seen scanned for in log files.

I`m back … (eh black)

Wah ampir sebulan penuh gk update ni blog (maklum banyak keluar). Ni back tambah black, artinya ? Back kembali nulis ma ngisi ni blog (ada yg baru si, malah banyak… tapi yg lagi keinget sekarang cuman masalah upgrade Mandriva 2008 ke Mandriva 2008.1 ato Mandriva Spring), Black ? kalo black tu artine item, nah berhubung abis sering keluar ke jalan (bukan keluar lapangan (out ??)), ni kulit jadi tambah item dan tambah item (soale udah item dari sananya :p).

Banyak juga si komentar yang belom sempet ke bales, yah harap maklum aja, jarang lama ngadep inet sekarang… ni ae pas lagi rada longgar. Tapi gpp, setia aja ngunjungi ni blog, sapa tau ada sing baru lagi, :p.

Lanjut proses upgrade aja. Seperti biasa proses upgrade download iso file dari kambing (http://kambing.ui.edu) pas itu masih Mandriva 2008.1 RC-2 alias aceras (Sekarang posisinya udah Final Release / 10 April 2008, cuman di kambing belom di donlod, paling besok aja). Kalo di liat-liat antara RC2 ma Rilis ampir sama, cuman ketambahan dikit.

Rumus upgrade :

• Mount iso file (3 Iso)
• Tambahin ke ke daftar repo pake urpmi.addmedia
• Jalankan proses upgrade pake perintah urpmi – -auto-select
• Tekan Enter2 aja, ato Y
• Tunggu beberapa saat, trus reboot
